Warehouse Automation Business Analyst

Salary Banding: £70,000 - £85,000

Key Responsibilities

  • Gather, analyse, and document business and functional requirements for warehouse automation projects.
  • Facilitate workshops with operational, technical and third-party stakeholders to define business needs.
  • Produce detailed AS-IS and TO-BE process maps using recognised process mapping methodologies.
  • Support the design and validation of end-to-end warehouse automation solutions.
  • Work closely with Dematic, internal IT teams, systems integrators and operational stakeholders throughout project delivery.
  • Translate complex operational requirements into clear functional documentation for development and implementation teams.
  • Support solution design reviews, process improvements and business change initiatives.
  • Assist with system testing, UAT planning, defect management and go-live activities.
  • Ensure business requirements are fully traceable throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Identify opportunities to optimise warehouse processes through automation and technology.

About You

We're looking for someone with previous Business Analysis experience within warehouse operations, supply chain technology or warehouse automation. You'll be comfortable engaging with stakeholders at all levels and have the ability to understand both operational processes and technical solutions.

You'll ideally have experience working on automation projects involving technologies such as Dematic, AutoStore, KNAPP, Swisslog, Vanderlande or similar warehouse automation platforms.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience as a Business Analyst within warehouse automation, logistics, or supply chain.
  • Strong requirements gathering and business process analysis skills.
  • Experience creating detailed process maps and functional documentation.
  • Understanding of end-to-end warehouse operations and fulfilment processes.
  • Experience supporting technology or automation implementation projects.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and workshop facilitation skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience supporting UAT, process validation, and project delivery.

Desirable

  • Experience working on Dematic automation projects.
  • Knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (Blue Yonder, Manhattan, SAP EWM, Körber, etc.).
  • Understanding of WCS, WES, robotics, conveyors, ASRS, shuttle systems, or automated material handling equipment.
  • Experience working within Agile or Waterfall project environments.
