Full Stack Engineer (City Of Bristol)

We are a dynamic and innovative company working on exciting projects across various platforms. We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Full-Stack Developer to join our team and contribute to the development and maintenance of our web applications, integrations and future tech.

Project Tech Stack Overview:

Our current ecosystem involves a diverse range of technologies across different projects:

Dashboard

• Frontend: React, TypeScript, MaterialUI (MUI), SCSS, Redux Toolkit
• Backend: Node.js, ExpressJS, TypeScript, MongoDB (Mongoose)

CMS Project:

• Frontend: Next.js, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS
• Backend: Payload CMS, TypeScript, MongoDB (Mongoose)

Lead Distribution Platform:

• Frontend: React, Antd
• Backend: Python, Django, Postgres

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable web applications across our various platforms.
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following best practices.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing software.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to a high-quality development culture.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and propose improvements to our existing stack and processes.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Proven experience as a Senior Full-Stack Developer or similar role.
• Strong proficiency in front-end technologies:
• React / Next.js
• TypeScript
• State management (e.g., Redux Toolkit)
• CSS preprocessors (SCSS) and UI frameworks (e.g., MaterialUI, Tailwind CSS, Antd).
• Strong proficiency in back-end technologies:
• Node.js and ExpressJS (or similar like NestJS)
• Python and Django

Database Expertise:

• MongoDB (experience with Mongoose is a plus)
• PostgreSQL (or other relational databases)

Cloud Platform Experience: 

• Familiarity with platforms like Digital Ocean and/or AWS.

Version Control: 

• Proficient with Git and platforms like GitHub/GitLab.

API Development:

• Experience in designing and consuming RESTful APIs and/or GraphQL.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting.
• Must be based in the UK.

Advantageous Skills (Highly Desirable but not essential):

• Native Mobile App Development Experience: Experience with frameworks like React Native, Swift, Kotlin, or others for building native mobile applications.
• Experience with Payload CMS.
• Experience with specific integrations mentioned in our stack (Sendgrid, Twilio, LeadByte, XERO, Stripe, Ads APIs).
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
