Role Purpose
The Presales and Portfolio Director is a strategic leadership role accountable for shaping and delivering the technical and commercial success of Nasstars Networks and Secure Networks business. You will lead two interdependent functions: a presales team that drives technical win strategy alongside sales, and a portfolio function responsible for the lifecycle of Nasstars productised offerings, including SASE, SD-WAN, Internet, LAN, Network Access, Voice, and Cloud.Department: Connectivity

Description Role Purpose The Presales and Portfolio Director is a strategic leadership role accountable for shaping and delivering the technical and commercial success of Nasstars Networks and Secure Networks business. You will lead two interdependent functions: a presales team that drives technical win strategy alongside sales, and a portfolio function responsible for the lifecycle of Nasstars productised offerings, including SASE, SD-WAN, Internet, LAN, Network Access, Voice, and Cloud. You will create a high-performance culture that combines solution innovation with commercial rigour. This includes embedding AI and automation into the bid process, partnering cross-functionally with Marketing and SDR teams, and building structured development pathways for technical talent. Key Responsibilities Key Responsibilities Portfolio Strategy & Development- Own the full lifecycle of the productised portfolio, including managed and professional services across:
- Secure Networking (SASE, SD-WAN, ZTNA, Firewalls, NDR)
- Connectivity & Access (Business Internet, MPLS, Ethernet, Wi-Fi/LAN)
- Voice & Cloud (Hosted Voice, SIP, Collaboration, Private/Public Cloud Access)
- Define and maintain service descriptions , SLAs , standard pricing , cost models , and P&L accountability for each offering.
- Lead a team of product managers and owners , each responsible for their designated solution area.
- Collaborate closely with Marketing and SDR teams to shape go-to-market messaging , campaigns , and demand generation efforts for the portfolio.
- Ensure alignment with vendor roadmaps and evolving market needs, prioritising standardisation and service repeatability.
- Lead a high-performing presales team that supports Sales in:
- Winning new logo customers through high-impact solution design and bid support.
- Growing revenue from existing customers through upsell and cross-sell strategies.
- Build a culture of continuous improvement through coaching, mentoring, and structured technical development plans for presales talent.
- Champion the adoption of AI and automation in the presales and bid response process to improve efficiency, accuracy, and speed.
- Act as a senior technical sponsor for complex or strategic opportunities and key customer relationships.
- Improve the quality, consistency, and margin control of presales solution design and commercial proposals.
- Drive alignment with Finance, Sales, Delivery, Engineering, and Managed Services to ensure offerings are deliverable, profitable, and scalable.
- Maintain close oversight of portfolio profitability , utilisation, and performance metrics.
- Provide commercial governance on bid submissions and solution proposals, supporting P&L outcomes.
- Contribute to annual strategic planning and roadmap development at BU leadership level.
- Proven experience leading presales and/or portfolio teams within a technology MSP, telecom, or systems integrator.
- Deep understanding of managed services and solutions across secure networking, connectivity, voice, and cloud.
- Demonstrated ability to build and manage productised service offerings with commercial ownership (P&L).
- Experience using or introducing AI/automation tools in technical sales or bid processes.
- Strong cross-functional leadership, especially with Marketing, SDRs, Sales, and Engineering.
- Professional certifications (e.g. Fortinet NSE, Cisco CCNP/CCIE, Azure/AWS certifications, TOGAF)
- Financial and commercial acumen, including experience with service cost modelling and pricing
- Degree in Business, Engineering, or Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
