PMO Officer

On behalf of NatWest, we are looking for a PMO Officer for a 12-month contract based in Edinburgh, London or Manchester (hybrid working).

NatWest is a major UK retail bank, providing every day banking services to over 17 million retail customers. The banks expertise and services span across Business Services, Corporate banking, Wealth Management, Group Functions, Retail and Investment Banking.

Purpose of the role:

To support the delivery of RBSI's change portfolio by providing governance, insight, control and financial discipline across multi-workstream programmes. The role will ensure clear reporting, strong financial and risk management, and effective coordination of delivery activity to enable informed decision-making by senior leaders.

Working closely with Programme Managers, stakeholders and delivery teams, the PMO Officer will play a key role in maintaining structure, consistency and control across all aspects of change delivery.

What you'll do:

  • Maintain governance frameworks and ensure adherence to NatWest Group standards.
  • Coordinate steering committees and governance forums.
  • Manage the end-to-end creation of SteerCo packs, ensuring all inputs are accurate, complete and aligned.
  • Create and maintain programme plans.
  • Track programme budgets, forecasts, actuals and variances.
  • Maintain RAID logs and ensure risks, assumptions, issues and dependencies are actively managed, escalated and owned.
  • Support resource planning and onboarding.
  • Provide reporting, insight and coordination across multi-workstream programmes.
  • Work closely with Programme Managers, stakeholders and delivery teams to support effective programme delivery.

The skills you'll need:

  • Strong understanding of project and programme disciplines.
  • Experience in planning, scheduling and RAID management.
  • Ability to interpret complex data and produce meaningful insights.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively across multi-disciplined teams.
  • Consistent approach to risk management and governance.
  • Prior experience in PMO, project support or change roles.
  • Good understanding of Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
  • Experience supporting multi-workstream programmes or large-scale change.
  • Background in governance, reporting and financial management.
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office, Planview, Oracle and SharePoint.
