What you’ll do

As Head of Environment Management, you’ll manage a small team which collaborates closely with technical Release Managers, Application Management, Project Managers, IT Operations and 3rd parties.

In this key role, you’ll be responsible for designing, planning and coordinating our test environment landscape to support development testing and productive deployment of changes along predefined release cycles including project change and business as usual demand. Your focus will be on the entire Wealth Chief Digital Information Office (WCDIO) IT platform, including Online Banking, API’s, Front Data Store, Output Management, Data Warehouse, and Middleware in conjunction with the core Banking system Avaloq.

Your top priorities will include:

  • Driving the environment management strategy within the bank, improving and automating processes around setting up and maintaining environments
  • Understanding and communicating the environment status, health checks and status reports for the platform’s environments
  • Working with a range of stakeholders across the bank and third-party suppliers to make sure that platform environments are optimised
The skills you’ll need

To be successful in this role, you’ll need technical knowledge of platforms, technology, products and domains and an understanding of relevant industry standard environment toolsets and processes. You’ll also need experience of multiple languages or technical domains.

In addition, you’ll need good collaboration and stakeholder management skills and experience of using virtualisation and cloud adoption models.

Furthermore, you’ll need:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, coupled with the ability to convey complex technical concepts clearly to colleagues, including management level
  • Knowledge of Agile and Prince 2 tools and methodologies spanning value stream, portfolio platform and feature team levels
  • An understanding of operational principles
  • Extensive technical understanding of IT infrastructure
