Lead Delivery Manager – Defence Projects

We are supporting a leading digital consultancy on a multi-year programme within the UK Defence sector. They are building small, agile teams that work directly with MOD customers to deliver mission-critical data services.

The Role

As Lead Delivery Manager, you will oversee multiple agile teams and cross-programme delivery. You’ll provide governance, reporting and assurance across several workstreams, while engaging senior Defence stakeholders. This role requires a “heavy-hitter” with strong programme management experience, able to balance delivery oversight with client relationship management.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and direct Agile Team Leads and Delivery Managers across multiple streams.
• Ensure programme governance, risk management and reporting to senior Defence stakeholders.
• Build trusted relationships with MOD customers, guiding delivery priorities.
• Coach, mentor and support delivery professionals.
• Drive alignment of outcomes to programme objectives.

Candidate Profile

• Must hold active MOD DV clearance.
• Strong track record of programme and delivery management in Defence.
• Experience overseeing multiple agile software/data teams.
• Skilled in stakeholder engagement and consulting in secure environments.
• Excellent commercial and governance awareness.
