Python Developer

Python Developer | Technical Consultancy | Hybrid (Sheffield)

I’m partnering with a UK-based technical consultancy that designs and builds custom software platforms for clients across transport, infrastructure, and operations.

They develop everything in-house and are now looking for an Python Engineer to strengthen their existing delivery team. It’s a hands-on role with genuine ownership , an opportunity join a small, experienced delivery team. You’ll have real ownership and contribute to software used in production from day one in a team where ideas are valued, shared, and acted upon where of benefit.

What you’ll do

• Design, build, and maintain backend services and APIs in Python
• Collaborate with frontend and mobile engineers on end-to-end delivery
• Contribute to architecture and best-practice decisions across the stack
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code

Essential experience

• Strong Python development skills
• Experience with Django (Flask / FastAPI are fine too)
• RESTful API design and integration
• Relational databases (PostgreSQL or similar)
• Git

Worth noting: Whilst this is a backend role, you will need to have some light exposure to Javascript when required (purely for some ticketing and dashboard features, so nothing heavy).

Nice to have

• CI/CD pipelines
• Cloud exposure

About you

• Based within commutable distance from Sheffield
• 3+ years of Python experience
• Without need of visa / sponsorship now or in the future

💰 Salary: £50 – £65k
