GCP Cyber Security Expert

Location: UK (Ideally London / 1 day per week on-site) OR Remote (EU-based)

About the Project

Nelly Works has been exclusively engaged to support this enterprise-level cloud migration project. We are looking for a high-caliber Senior Google Security Expert / Migrations Lead to act as the principal advisor, solution architect, and delivery lead.

Your mission will be to spearhead the complex migration of existing Microsoft and legacy security tooling over to the Google Security Ecosystem - covering end-to-end delivery from initial strategy down to governance and implementation.

Key Responsibilities

• Migration Strategy & Execution: Lead the end-to-end migration strategy from Microsoft security tools to Google security tools (including current-state assessment, target-state architecture, roadmapping, and transition planning).
• Technical Mapping: Map Microsoft capabilities (Entra ID, Defender Suite, Sentinel, Purview, Intune) to relevant Google capabilities (Google Cloud security services, Google SecOps, Mandiant, Chrome Enterprise, Workspace security, and IAM).
• Risk & Coexistence Design: Define migration waves, technical designs, and coexistence models to ensure zero business disruption and continuous security coverage during the transition.
• Architecture & Governance: Develop security architecture documents, migration runbooks, control mapping, and risk registers aligned with Zero Trust principles.
• Stakeholder Leadership: Lead workshops with infrastructure, cloud, compliance, and executive teams to confirm requirements and architectural decisions.
• SecOps Integration: Guide the integration of Google security telemetry, detection content, and workflows into SecOps processes (alerting, playbooks, and response).

Required Qualifications & Experience

• 8+ years of dedicated experience in cybersecurity consulting, security architecture, or large-scale security transformation programs.
• Mandatory Expertise (Google Security): Deep, expert-level knowledge of Google security technologies, including Google Cloud security architecture, Google SecOps, Mandiant capabilities, Workspace security, Chrome Enterprise, and IAM.
• Strong Knowledge (Microsoft Security): Solid understanding of the tools being migrated from (Entra ID, Defender suite, Sentinel, Purview, and Intune).
• Framework Mastery: Strong grasp of Zero Trust architecture, security governance, and enterprise risk management.
• Leadership: Exceptional project/program leadership skills with a proven track record of managing cross-functional delivery teams and senior stakeholders.
• Communication: Flawless written and verbal English communication skills.

Preferred (But Not Essential)

• Active professional certifications (e.g., Google Cloud Professional Cloud Security Engineer, Google Cloud Architect, CISSP, CCSP, CISM).
• Experience with framework mapping (NIST, ISO 27001, CIS, PCI DSS).
• Background working within tier-1 consulting organizations or complex multinational environments.
