We're looking for an experienced Group Head of IT Systems & Infrastructure to lead the development, integration, and operational management of enterprise-wide IT systems during a time of significant expansion and change.

About the Organisation

This fast-scaling, private equity-backed group with recent acquisitions and further growth on the horizon, the group is building a new brand and unified IT architecture to support its long-term strategy.

You'll join a newly formed internal support and systems team and play a key role in delivering a robust, secure, and compliant IT infrastructure aligned to the Group's technology roadmap-designed to enable collaboration, operational efficiency, and secure digital transformation.

Role Overview

This hands-on, strategic role requires a proven leader with experience in complex Microsoft 365 environments and enterprise IT systems.

You'll be responsible for implementing and managing a Group-wide infrastructure built on Microsoft's cloud and hybrid technologies, integrating systems from acquired businesses, and maintaining operational excellence.

You'll be the driving force behind a new, Microsoft O365 tenancy and ensure successful integration of multiple domains into a cohesive platform that supports productivity, governance, and collaboration across the business.

Key Responsibilities

Systems Strategy & Planning

• Define and implement the Group IT roadmap in alignment with business strategy

• Assess existing systems and prioritise technology initiatives and projects

• Allocate resources and track progress with internal and external stakeholders

Microsoft 365 Tenant Integration

• Build and manage a Group-wide M365 across multiple domains

• Standardise platform configuration and enforce governance and security policies

• Enable seamless collaboration, identity and access management, and application integration

• Manage third-party applications such as Sage, COINS etc

Integration, Migration & Transformation

• Lead integration of IT platforms from acquired businesses into the Group infrastructure

• Coordinate secure and compliant data migrations and system cutovers

• Optimise platform performance, simplify collaboration and reduce duplication

Operations & Support

• Ensure the stability, security, and efficiency of day-to-day IT operations

• Oversee troubleshooting, upgrades, and BAU system administration

• Manage MSPs and other vendors to meet SLAs and performance targets

Compliance & Risk Management

• Enforce policies that support regulatory compliance and IT security

• Develop and test Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery plans

• Monitor risk, conduct audits, and implement remediation actions as needed

Project & Budget Management

• Lead IT projects through their life cycle, including scoping, budgeting and delivery

• Track project performance using KPIs and provide actionable insights to senior leadership

• Report against OpEx and CapEx budgets, ensuring effective use of resources

Stakeholder Engagement & Training

• Work closely with stakeholders in HR, Finance, and Service Delivery to align systems with needs

• Provide training and adoption support for new systems and processes

• Champion innovation, continuous improvement, and digital enablement across the organisation

Experience & Skills Required

• 5+ years in IT systems/infrastructure management

• In-depth experience administering and configuring Microsoft 365

• Strong understanding of Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, and cross-domain collaboration

• Proven track record in IT systems integration, governance, and security

• Excellent project management, communication and stakeholder engagement skills

• Comfortable working in a high-change, fast-paced environment

The successful candidate will be joining the business at a key and exciting time.

As a newly created position, you will be taking a lead role in the Groups IT / Infrastructure.

This position can be offered either on a 12-24 month project or can equally be offered on a full time permanent basis due to the groups exciting plans for both organic and acquisitional growth
