Senior Application Support Engineer

The role

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced application support engineer to join and be an integral member of our team, to provide technical support on systems delivered to clients which focuses on their Data Governance.

There is also scope to develop DevOps related skills including infrastructure, automation and incident management.

Role responsibilities

Working hours: 9 - 5

• Work as part of a team to support the platform, including the components and configuration, along with health monitoring, issue resolution, proactive maintenance, and improvement initiatives.

• Work with other cross-functional teams within Nephos, such as Solution Architects and Project Managers to help deliver end to end new client onboarding activities and system solutions.

• Support existing client onboarding, data scanning and automated reporting activities.

• Support AWS Cluster setup, configuration and health.

• Support platform installations, configuration and health.

• Support ongoing platform version releases, including testing, Use Cases and deployments.

• Take ownership of Incident and Problem records, apply technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to methodically handle investigation activities, identify issues, restore services as quickly as possible and maintain updated records.

• Take ownership of Service Requests to fulfil these quickly and maintain up to date/accurate records.

• Manage Change records relating to system, environment changes, and improvement initiatives, attending the weekly CAB where needed.

• Create and maintain up to date knowledge articles or work instructions around your area of expertise, to help build a culture for sharing information and developing others.

Skills/Experience

• 5+ Years in a technical application support role.

• Proven experience in the installation, configuration and support of enterprise applications.

• Solid demonstratable experience working with different operating systems including Linux (Ubuntu and Red Hat) and Windows.

• Strong experience in scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell or Bash.

• Excellent issue analysis, troubleshooting and fault finding skills.

• Good understanding of networking protocols TCP/IP stack, DNS and VPN

• Good experience of computer virtualisation technologies including Kubernetes and Docker.

• Good experience of the AWS cloud platform.

• Experience with Rest APIs and best practices.

• Experience in using Service Management ticketing systems, such as Jira.

• Understanding of repositories, specifically GITHub.

• Understanding of file sharing technologies.

• Basic GIT knowledge.

• Basic database knowledge.

• Knowledge of ITIL

• Strong customer centric attitude and interpersonal skills.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and effectively.

• Flexible, organised, and self-motivated.

• Legally able to work in the UK.

Advantageous Experience / Skills

• Experience in process automation technologies.

• Experience in using Privileged Action Management tools, such as Delinea.

• Experience around data governance.

• Experience in applying and renewing certificates.
