Principal Technical Learning Consultant
About Neueda
Neueda builds technical capability for the world’s largest financial institutions. Investment banks, asset managers, exchanges, market-data firms and insurers come to us when they need their engineers, graduates and technology leaders to be measurably better at something — building software, working with data, using AI in production, or moving a whole engineering organisation to a new standard.
We are not a content house. Our work is designed and quality-assured by people who have done the job, and delivered by hands-on instructors. That is the difference our clients buy, and this role exists to protect it.
The role
You are the technical authority on our client engagements. You decide what a programme should teach, how it should be built, and whether what we are about to put in front of a client’s engineers is actually any good. You will shape solutions with our client teams before they are sold, architect the learning that follows, and hold the line on technical and instructional quality across a distributed bench of instructors and subject-matter experts.
This is a role for an engineer who found they were better at making other engineers good than at any single codebase. You will not be writing production software here. You will be reading it, critiquing it, designing the exercises that teach it, and explaining to a client’s head of engineering why our approach will work.
What you will actually work on
Recent and current engagements, anonymised:
- An enterprise-wide AI enablement programme for a global investment bank — from executive literacy through to engineers building agentic workflows in their own stack.
- A multi-track systems-analyst and engineering academy for a global asset manager, running to several hundred participants across multiple cohorts and geographies.
- An engineering-excellence programme for a tier-one bank, aimed at raising code quality, testing discipline and delivery practice across established teams.
- Graduate developer academies that take new hires from university to production-ready inside a bank’s own environment and tooling.
Current technologies across the portfolio: Java, Python, C#/.NET, SQL and data engineering, AWS and Azure, CI/CD and testing practice, and the current generation of AI and agentic development tooling.
What you will be accountable for
- Technical correctness. You own it. You will read and critique other people’s code, labs, environments and architecture before it reaches a client, and use subject-matter experts for depth rather than for cover.
- Solution design. Leading needs analysis with clients and with our customer success team, then designing the end-to-end architecture of a programme — what is taught, in what order, in which modality, assessed how, and against which measurable business outcome.
- Shaping and winning work. Bringing technical credibility into client conversations, proposals and scoping. Being clear and honest about effort, risk and feasibility, and defending that view when it is challenged on price.
- Instructor and SME governance. Advising on selection from our approved pool, briefing them properly on objectives, audience and quality standards, and assuring what they produce before it is released.
- Instructional quality. Making sure our programmes reflect how adults actually learn technical skills — practice, feedback, spacing, realistic problems — and applying Neueda’s learning frameworks consistently across every output.
- Delivery discipline. Working with delivery management on design milestones, managing design and accuracy risk, supporting change control where scope moves, and keeping documentation and version control audit-ready where a client or regulator requires it.
- Evidence of impact. Using feedback, learning data, behavioural indicators and business measures to show what the programme changed — and to improve the next one.
Essential experience
- 8+ years building production software inside a global financial institution. Investment banking preferred; asset management, exchanges, market data, payments and insurance are equally welcome. You have shipped code that mattered, in an environment with real constraints — regulation, legacy, scale, audit.
- Demonstrable experience enabling other engineers at scale. This does not have to be a formal training career. Running a graduate academy, owning onboarding for an engineering org, tech-lead mentoring, internal guild or workshop leadership, or conference and bootcamp delivery all count.
- Credibility with senior technology stakeholders. You have scoped, presented and defended technical work in front of people at head-of-engineering or CTO level, and held your ground.
- The judgement to assure someone else’s technical curriculum. You can look at a lab, an exercise or a module outline and say precisely why it will or will not land with a room of engineers.
- Excellent written communication and comfort operating in ambiguity across a matrixed model with customer success, delivery management and associates.
Desirable
- A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related technical discipline. Equivalent professional engineering experience is fully acceptable in its place.
- Experience designing or delivering training in a regulated environment where accuracy and auditability are non-negotiable.
- Experience governing contractors, associates or an external delivery bench.
- Estimation and pricing experience on professional-services engagements.
What we offer
- Competitive salary and benefits package.
- A rapidly growing company where this role has genuine ownership rather than a narrow lane.
- Professional development and career growth opportunities.
- A supportive and collaborative working environment.
