Job Purpose
We are a well-established and fast-growing fuel and oil distribution company who are looking to employ full-time IT Support Tech Lead to join our Head Office in Harlow, Essex. Reporting into the CFO/Interim CIO, the postholder will ensure an effective IT deployment including infrastructure, desktop support and internal procedures in conjunction with all teams.

As a result of new business and further expansion, we are looking to employ full-time Senior IT Support to join our successful team.

Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for and manage IT support for infrastructure components, including servers, storage systems, and networking devices.
- Ensure data security by implementing and maintaining robust security measures, such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and encryption protocols.
- Lead vulnerability and patch management activities to identify and remediate security vulnerabilities in IT systems and applications, with support from managed SOC.
- Monitor and maintain network reliability by troubleshooting connectivity issues and optimising network performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and enforce IT security policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular security audits and assessments to identify potential risks and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies
- Stay current with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in IT security, infrastructure management and ensuring a modernized IT support function.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior IT staff, assisting with technical escalations and knowledge sharing
- Document IT infrastructure configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps to maintain an accurate knowledge base
- Setting up or moving IT electrical equipment for employees when required i.e. new starters or if there is an internal move
- To be responsible for the day-to-day activities of the IT department, creating a culture of continuous improvement and managing a programme of change across all systems and processes.
- Support the senior management team across the business where IT plays an enabling role to achieve their goals.
- To assess the effectiveness of IT infrastructure and applications, and to make recommendations for changes or improvements where appropriate.

Person Specification
- This position is ideal for a technically skilled IT professional ready to take the next step into leadership - combining strategic oversight with hands-on technical delivery
- The successful candidate must have worked in a similar role, be self-motivated to work autonomously and communicate effectively.
- Be technically strong for all Microsoft products and other everyday applications, a more concise list is:
- Leading an IT support function, whilst being hands-on
- MS Active Directory, Office 356, InTune
- Networking (setup and configuration)
- Reporting IT performance (e.g. open/closed tickets, SLA’s and response/resolution time)
- A strong track record of relationship management both with internal and external stakeholders.
- Flexible approach to work, will take calls during weekend to resolve issues in emergencies
- Ability to demonstrate strong leadership and communication skills
- Works well under pressure
- To work well within a team as well as own initiative
- Positive can-do attitude at all times
- Written and oral communication skills
- Drive, determination, and ownership of role
