Salary: £55,000 - £58,000+ excellent company benefits and a YEARLY TAX FRE BONUS

Due to the nature of the work you must be a British Sole National (born in the UK) and hold SC Cleared minimum and must be eligible for DV Clearance.

NexGen Associates are working with a leading Defence-focused organisation to recruit a PKI Applications and Infrastructure Engineer** to support and maintain high-assurance Public Key Infrastructure environments. This is a predominantly on-site role based in Corsham supporting critical national infrastructure within a secure operational setting.

The Role:

The PKI Applications and Infrastructure Engineer will be responsible for the ongoing maintenance support and enhancement of PKI systems and associated infrastructure. This role spans both software administration and network hardware implementation and is well suited to candidates who enjoy working across virtualised server environments as well as hands-on hardware builds.

Working closely with the PKI Operations team you will ensure systems remain secure compliant and operationally resilient within a high-classification environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement structured patching and update plans to maintain system security and compliance
  • Administer and maintain server infrastructure with a strong focus on VMware environments
  • Design build and configure Windows 11 workstations including Group Policy implementation
  • Create and execute PowerShell scripts to automate administrative and operational tasks
  • Diagnose and resolve issues across software platforms and network hardware
  • Assemble configure and re-wire network hardware in line with detailed technical build instructions
  • Maintain accurate configuration and asset records using JIRA
  • Produce and update technical documentation including work instructions and process reviews
  • Act as a technical Subject Matter Expert within meetings workshops and operational discussions

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in system administration within high-security environments
  • Proven experience delivering software patching and updates across Microsoft Cisco Catalyst Thales and EJBCA platforms
  • Strong server virtualisation experience including VMware administration and VM creation
  • Experience building and configuring Windows workstations including Group Policies and PowerShell scripting
  • Practical experience using Linux command line interfaces
  • Strong troubleshooting capability across software and network hardware environments
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience working in high-classification or government environments with strong security awareness
  • Must hold SC clearance as a minimum and be eligible for DV clearance
  • Full UK driving licence and access to own transport due to limited public transport to site

Desirable Experience:

  • Working knowledge of Public Key Infrastructure concepts and certificate management
  • Experience with Hardware Security Modules including Thales Luna HSMs
  • JIRA asset management and configuration experience
  • Knowledge of Yubikey configuration and use
  • Familiarity with SCIDA compliance processes
  • Understanding of JSP 440 security policy within high-assurance environments
