Role: 1st / 2nd Line IT Engineer (Data analysis)

Are you a hands-on IT Support Engineer with strong troubleshooting skills and an keen interest in data, reporting, and business systems?

We're looking for a 1st / 2nd Line IT Engineer to join a growing business in Rugeley. This role offers the opportunity to combine traditional IT support responsibilities with data analysis, reporting, and continuous improvement projects.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys solving technical issues but also has a passion for working with data, spreadsheets, and technology-driven business improvements.

The Role

You'll provide day-to-day IT support across the business while also helping teams make

better use of their systems and data.

Key responsibilities include:

• Providing 1st and 2nd Line support for hardware, software, networking, and business applications.
• Troubleshooting desktop, laptop, printer, mobile device, and connectivity issues.
• Supporting Microsoft 365 including Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive.
• Managing user accounts, permissions, and onboarding activities.
• Diagnosing network issues including DNS, DHCP, VPN, and Wi-Fi connectivity problems.
• Creating and maintaining IT documentation and procedures.
• Supporting internal business systems and applications.
• Producing reports and analysing business data using Excel and other tools.
• Managing, cleansing, and maintaining spreadsheets and datasets.
• Identifying opportunities to improve processes through better use of technology and data.
• Working with internal stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and business challenges.

What We're Looking For

Essential Skills

• Previous experience in a 1st or 2nd Line IT Support role.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, and networking.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Microsoft 365.
• Experience supporting users in a business environment.
• Strong Excel and spreadsheet skills.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.

Desirable Skills

• Experience analysing business data or producing reports.
• Knowledge of Power BI, Power Query, or similar reporting tools.
• Experience with ERP, CRM, or business systems.
• Understanding of data management and data quality principles.
• Exposure to process improvement or digital transformation projects.
• Basic SQL knowledge.
