We're looking for an experienced Application Engineering Manager to lead a talented team of developers within a fast-paced financial services environment. This role blends leadership, technical expertise, and people management to drive high-quality software delivery, innovation, and team growth.

What You'll Do:

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of software engineers.
• Drive technical excellence and adoption of best practices (CI/CD, code reviews, testing).
• Collaborate with product, design, and other stakeholders to deliver business-critical projects.
• Recruit and retain top technical talent.
• Set objectives, track performance, and support career progression.
• Promote innovation while maintaining compliance and risk controls in a regulated environment.

What We're Looking For:

• Proven experience managing technical teams in software delivery.
• Strong background in software engineering, with hands-on experience in relevant tech stacks.
• Experience delivering change in highly available, customer-facing platforms.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Proactive, growth-oriented mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.

Technical Skills:

• JavaScript/Frontend: React, React Native, TypeScript, semantic HTML, accessibility.
• Backend/JVM: Java-based systems, microservices, event-driven architectures, serverless.
• Engineering Practices: Domain Driven Design, Test Driven Development, DevOps, developer coaching.

Salary: Up to £75,000 per year
