Finance Manager

Role: Company Accountant / Finance Manager Industry: Managed Services business Full-time: permanent 5 days on-site Salary: Up to £50,000 (depending on experience)

Who are we

A growing and ambitious Managed Services business is looking for an experienced, commercially minded Company Accountant / Finance Manager to take full ownership of its finance function. This is a genuinely hands-on role that goes well beyond traditional bookkeeping or finance administration - you will own the numbers, sharpen the controls, and help shape how the business scales.

You will lead on financial controls, reporting, cash flow, recurring billing and the day-to-day operational finance systems that keep a recurring-revenue business running. Just as importantly, you will be the person driving automation, efficiency and commercial visibility as the company grows, including through acquisition.This role will suit someone who has worked within an MSP, managed print, technology services, telecoms, or another recurring-revenue environment and who enjoys rolling up their sleeves in a fast-moving business.

What You'll Own

* Accurate monthly management accounts - P&L, balance sheet and cash flow reporting.* Forecasting, budgeting and variance analysis, with clear commercial insight for senior leadership.* Year-end accounts, working alongside external accountants and auditors.* Finance processes within the ERP / accounting systems - including driving automation and removing manual workarounds.* Recurring revenue billing across service agreements, licences, maintenance and support contracts, with a close eye on contract profitability and billing accuracy.* Credit control, debtor management and Direct Debit collections - improving cash collection and aged-debt performance.* Rolling cash flow forecasts and proactive management of working capital and financial controls.* Payroll, VAT returns and HMRC filings, plus robust governance and compliance with accounting standards.* Finance integration of acquired businesses - onboarding, systems and process alignment.

Essential

* Proven experience as a Company Accountant, Finance Manager or in a similar senior finance role.* Strong management accounting and financial reporting experience.* Background within an MSP, managed services, technology, telecoms or other recurring-revenue environment.* Solid understanding of recurring billing and service contract accounting.* Experience managing Direct Debit collections and cash flow forecasting.* Experience with ERP / accounting systems and process automation.* Strong credit control and debtor management experience.* Excellent Excel and financial analysis skills, with sharp attention to detail.

Desirable

* Experience with acquisitions and finance integrations.* A track record of improving finance automation and operational workflows.* Familiarity with PSA / ERP systems such as ECi e-automate, Autotask, Halo, Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, SAP or similar.* Knowledge of service margin reporting and contract profitability analysis.* Experience managing or mentoring junior finance staff.* Qualifications* ACCA / CIMA / ACA qualified, part-qualified, or qualified by experience.* AAT-qualified candidates with strong relevant experience are also encouraged to apply.
