IT Build Engineer

Job Title: IT Build Engineer Location: North-West London Job Type: Full-time Reporting to: Service Desk Manager

Role Overview

Important: This is an IT Build & Provisioning role (devices, users, Microsoft 365) not a software or DevOps build engineering position.

We are looking for a skilled IT Build & Provisioning Engineer to manage, maintain, and improve the build and deployment of end-user devices and user accounts across multiple client environments.

This role focuses on Windows device builds, Microsoft Intune & Autopilot deployments, and Microsoft 365 user provisioning, rather than software development, DevOps, or cloud infrastructure automation.

You will work closely with the Service Desk and wider technical teams to ensure devices and users are provisioned efficiently, securely, and consistently in line with defined standards and SLAs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build, configure, and deploy Windows devices using Microsoft Intune and Autopilot
  • Manage device deployment profiles, configuration policies, and compliance settings
  • Provision and manage user accounts in Active Directory and Microsoft 365
  • Configure MFA, Conditional Access, and endpoint security policies
  • Troubleshoot device build, deployment, and provisioning issues
  • Ensure builds are standardised, documented, and meet SLA requirements
  • Maintain accurate asset records and technical documentation
  • Support onboarding, offboarding, and device refresh processes
  • Identify opportunities to improve and automate build and provisioning workflows

Required Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in an IT Build, Endpoint, or Service Desk Engineering role
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Intune & Autopilot
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft 365 user provisioning and lifecycle management
  • Experience troubleshooting Active Directory (on-prem) and Entra ID / Azure AD
  • Knowledge of endpoint security, compliance policies, and remote management
  • Previous experience in an MSP or multi-client environment (preferred)
  • Strong attention to detail and a process-driven mindset
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills

What We Offer

  • £35,000
  • Opportunity to work across varied client environments
  • Collaborative and supportive technical team
  • North-West London location with on-site / hybrid working options
  • Professional development and training opportunities
