IT Support Engineer

Our client based in Abingdon, Oxfordshire, have been providing efficient IT solutions to businesses for over 30 years.

They are passionate about the people, technology, innovation and creativity around which our business is based. They are currently looking to expand their team with several new roles.

This position will be based at their office in Abingdon.

The successful candidate will be a well-presented IT Support Analyst who is extremely customer focused. You will be supporting clients in over 400 locations nationwide, the majority of whom are located in Oxfordshire.

As an IT support engineer, you will be responsible for providing service and customer support primarily as remote support from the office, but on occasion you may also be assisting onsite. Your role will involve client support, configuration of hardware/software, repairs and preventative maintenance.

Your role will be predominantly Windows/Microsoft focused, Office 365, client OS support and peripheral configuration. In addition, you will be configuring servers, Cisco switches, routers, firewalls and cloud services.

Experience of networking implementation, diagnosis and IT security is essential.

You will have competences in the following areas:

* Networking TCP/IP and connectivity with knowledge of routers, switches and Firewalls.

* 365/Azure Experience.

* Active Directory/Azure AD administration including Group Policy configuration.

* Supporting Windows 10/11.

* Verbal communication skills.

Experience in the following areas would be advantageous:

* Server administration (2016, 2019 and Server 2022)

* Windows Hyper-V Virtualisation.

* Intune\Apple\Meraki MDM.

* Supporting Apple devices.

* Backup technologies and disaster recovery.

It is essential that you have had experience in a similar role.

This role is offering a basic salary up to £37,000 p/a, depending on experience.

In addition, this role offers a 4% pension contribution, business/performance related bonus and other benefits commensurate with such positions.
