Job Description
Our client is a growing managed service provider who specialises across the NHS Health and Justice (H&J). They are looking for an ambitious individual to provide IT deskside support which can range from basic PC and printer support to network connectivity.
This job requires you to have a full, clean, and valid UK driving license along with access to suitable car as you will be expected to drive to various locations within the UK.
You will be expected to undergo DBS, NPPV level 3 and HMPPS Cat A Security Clearance vetting if you are not already vetted, with a failure to do so or failing to achieve the vetting resulting in the termination of your employment.
Working Pattern
Monday to Friday - Service Desk hours from 08:00 to 20:00, therefore you will be contracted to work a shift of 7.5h (Plus 1h lunch) during this window as required.
Key Responsibilities
* Act as the first-line IT support resource, building and maintaining strong technical knowledge to effectively support our users.* Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve IT issues efficiently, escalating complex incidents to senior technical teams when required.* Provide support across all sites and customer locations nationwide.* Maintain and update the Service Desk Knowledgebase with fixes, solutions, and documentation of work completed.* Apply ITIL v4 principles within a service delivery environment.* Develop and maintain expertise in networking (LAN/WAN, TCP/IP), hardware (PCs, printers, components), and supported software systems.* Build a foundational understanding of Microsoft Azure infrastructure to better support cloud-based services.* Script and automate routine tasks using tools such as PowerShell and RMM platforms.* Plan, prioritise, and manage workload independently, demonstrating strong analytical and communication skills when supporting staff and management.
Essential Skills
* Knowledge of PC, printer, and desktop technologies.* Knowledge of desktop and printer hardware.* Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Operating Systems for Desktop and Server Computing.* Knowledge of Microsoft Office products.* Knowledge of Network technologies and the TCP/IP protocol.
