IT Systems Analyst
Role: IT Systems Analyst Location: Cannock Salary: £32,000
Overview We are seeking a proactive and technically minded IT Systems Analyst to join our growing team. This is a varied role that combines IT support, business systems administration, data analysis, and continuous improvement.
You will act as a key link between users, business stakeholders, and external development partners, ensuring our systems operate effectively while identifying opportunities to improve processes, reporting, and business performance through better use of technology and data.
The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in 1st and 2nd Line IT Support alongside a genuine interest in data, reporting, and digital transformation. You do not need to be a developer, but you should be comfortable working with data, analysing business processes, and helping shape system enhancements.
Key Responsibilities IT Support & Systems Administration
- Provide 1st and 2nd Line support for users across hardware, software, networking, and business applications.
- Support Microsoft 365 including Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive.
- Troubleshoot desktop, laptop, printer, and mobile device issues.
- Assist with user account administration, permissions, and onboarding activities.
- Support network connectivity and basic infrastructure troubleshooting.
- Maintain IT documentation, procedures, and knowledge base articles.
Data Analysis & Business Improvement
- Analyse business data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
- Create and maintain reports, dashboards, and spreadsheets to support business decision-making.
- Transform complex data sets into meaningful insights and actionable recommendations.
- Support data cleansing, validation, and migration activities.
- Use Excel and reporting tools to automate manual processes and improve operational efficiency.
Business Systems & Application Support
- Investigate system issues and coordinate resolutions with third-party suppliers and development partners.
- Assist with system upgrades, testing, and user acceptance activities.
- Gather feedback from users to identify opportunities for system improvements.
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Experience providing 1st and 2nd Line IT Support.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365, including Outlook, Teams, Excel, SharePoint, and OneDrive.
- Good understanding of Windows operating systems and desktop support.
- Basic networking knowledge including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and Wi-Fi troubleshooting.
- Strong Excel skills including Pivot Tables, Lookups, data manipulation, and reporting.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Desirable
- Experience with Power BI, Power Query, or similar reporting tools.
- Exposure to SQL or database querying.
- Experience supporting ERP, CRM, or business systems.
- Understanding of business process mapping and continuous improvement.
- Experience working with outsourced development teams or third-party software providers.
- Knowledge of Power Automate or workflow automation tools.
