Mid-Level AI Engineer

Mid-Level AI Engineer Location: Reading, Berkshire (Hybrid - 2/3 days in the office) Salary: £45k+

One of our clients, an innovative and growing tech business, is looking to expand its engineering team with the addition of a Mid-Level AI Engineer.

This is a great opportunity to join a forward-thinking team building real-world AI-driven products, working across the full development lifecycle from model integration through to deployment.

The Role:

As a Mid-Level AI Engineer, you'll help design, build and deploy machine learning and AI-powered features into production systems, working closely with data scientists, back-end engineers and product stakeholders.

Key responsibilities include:

· Designing, developing and deploying AI/ML models and features into production.

· Building and maintaining APIs to serve ML models.

· Working with LLMs and integrating generative AI tools into applications.

· Collaborating with data scientists to productionise models.

· Writing clean, well-tested and well-documented code.

· Monitoring model performance and iterating based on feedback.

· Participating in code reviews and technical planning.

· Contributing to best practice around MLOps and responsible AI use.

Essential Skills:

· Commercial experience in an AI/ML engineering role.

· Strong Python skills.

· Experience with ML frameworks (e.g. PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn).

· Experience working with or integrating LLMs/generative AI (e.g. OpenAI, Anthropic APIs).

· SQL and experience working with large datasets.

· Understanding of model deployment and MLOps practices.

Desirable Skills:

· Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or GCP).

· Docker/Kubernetes.

· Experience with vector databases and RAG pipelines.

· CI/CD pipeline experience.
