The Role

As a Network Engineer, you will support the design, implementation, and maintenance of customer network infrastructure. Acting as a technical liaison between clients and the internal engineering team, you will help deliver network rollouts, provide ongoing support, and ensure network performance and security. You'll also contribute to large-scale customer and internal network projects and support technical knowledge sharing within the team.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide network support: troubleshoot and resolve network issues including connectivity, hardware, and software faults.* Assist in installation and configuration of enterprise-level network equipment - routers, switches, firewalls, wireless access points, etc.* Monitor network performance and recommend optimisations.* Help implement and maintain network security measures (firewalls, VPNs, intrusion detection, etc.).* Perform regular maintenance: firmware updates, patching, backups to ensure network availability and reliability.* Maintain accurate documentation: network configurations, diagrams, process notes.* Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders on project planning and implementation.* Participate in delivery of larger network projects - from design through implementation, test and handover.* Assist with training and mentoring more junior team members.

Person Specification / What You'll Bring

* Some previous experience in network support or engineering.* Solid understanding of core networking principles: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, subnetting, routing/switching.* Familiarity with enterprise-grade network equipment (routers, switches, firewalls, wireless access points).* Basic understanding or interest in network security practices.* Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work both independently and in a team.* Good verbal and written communication skills - able to liaise with clients and collaborate with colleagues.* Certifications Needed - CCNA* Certifications Welcome - CCNP, CWNA, JNCIA-JUNOS, PCNSA
