Technology Alignment Manager

Role: Technology Alignment Manager

Location: Remote (UK-based)

Salary: £46,000

About

We are partnered with a fast-growing MSP who have an exciting opportunity for someone to join and make tangible changes to the organisation.

We are looking for a Technology Alignment Manager to implement a singular tech standard for a group of MSPs ensuring seamless and highly optimised organisational performance throughout the group.

The Opportunity

This is a rare build role. We don't yet have a single technology standard that every client runs on. Around 60% of clients are on non-standard setups that create avoidable support tickets and slow everything down.

There's no group-wide technology audit, no shared standard build, and no regular technology roadmap for clients. You'll create them. You'll be building the alignment approach that every future client and acquisition will follow.

What You'll Do

First 3 months - establish

  • Audit client technology setups and record what each one is running
  • Work with senior leadership to define our standard build - the tools and settings every client should be on
  • Run root cause analysis on ticket volumes to find the setups driving the most work, and choose the right product stack
  • Set up clear, shared documentation of client environments

3 to 9 months - scale

  • Move clients onto the standard build, starting with those causing the most tickets
  • Help model the cost and pricing of chosen products with commercial colleagues
  • Build technology roadmaps for key clients and lead technology reviews focused on reducing risk and cost
  • Champion automation - updates, new-user setup, monitoring - to give engineers time back

Ongoing

  • Keep client environments aligned to the standard as things change
  • Align each newly acquired client base to the group standard
  • Contribute to sales and marketing materials explaining the standard build and its benefits
  • Track and report the tickets and engineer hours saved through alignment
  • Spot upgrade and improvement opportunities that genuinely help clients

What We're Looking For

Essential

  • Solid hands-on IT background in an IT managed service provider or internal IT team
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft 365, networking and common business IT setups
  • Experience standardising or improving IT environments, not just fixing faults
  • Able to explain technology choices clearly to non-technical business owners
  • Comfortable auditing and documenting IT environments in detail
  • Experience with RMM tooling from the Kaseya stack
  • Organised and methodical, with an eye for the change that removes future problems
  • Willing to travel to client and group sites when needed - this is a remote-first role

Strongly desirable

  • Experience building client technology roadmaps or acting as a technical account contact
  • Familiarity with IT documentation and technology-alignment tooling
  • Exposure to automating routine IT work (updates, provisioning, monitoring)
  • Experience with a PSA/ticketing system such as HaloPSA
  • Understanding of common security standards for small and medium businesses
  • Comfortable contributing to product cost and pricing discussions
  • Experience in a business growing through acquisition

Why This Role

Build the standard - You define the technology standard that every client and acquisition moves onto.

Technical and strategic - Part hands-on alignment, part roadmap. You shape what good looks like.

Measurable impact - Fewer tickets, safer setups, and time given back to engineers, all traceable to you.

Room to grow - As the client base grows, the alignment function you build grows with it.
