AWS Cloud Security Operations Engineer - AWS/Cloud/Security/SIEM

Location: Manchester (Hybrid, 3 Days On-Site)

Salary: £60,000 - £80,000 + Excellent Benefits

Our client is a rapidly growing software company whose technology supports emergency services and public safety organisations across the UK and North America.

They are seeking an experienced AWS Cloud Security Operations Engineer to join their cybersecurity team. This role combines cloud security engineering, vulnerability management, threat intelligence and incident response within a highly secure, cloud-first environment.

Responsibilities

• Own the vulnerability management process across AWS infrastructure, applications and network environments
• Conduct threat research and provide actionable remediation recommendations
• Lead and support security incident investigations and response activities
• Assess and harden AWS security configurations
• Work with SIEM, EDR and monitoring technologies to improve detection capabilities
• Support cloud security best practice across engineering and platform teams
• Assist with local IT and security requirements within the Manchester office
• Participate in an on-call security rota

Essential Experience

• Minimum 5 years' experience within Security Engineering, Cloud Security or Security Operations
• Strong AWS security expertise
• Vulnerability management and threat analysis experience
• Security incident response experience
• Knowledge of SIEM and endpoint security tools
• Infrastructure as Code experience (Terraform preferred)
• Understanding of networking and Windows environments
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills

Desirable Skills

• AWS Certified Security Specialty
• Terraform, Kubernetes or cloud automation tooling
• CrowdStrike, Elastic, CloudTrail or similar platforms
• ISO27001, PCI-DSS or Cyber Essentials experience
