1st/2nd Line Endpoint Support Engineer - Essex - c£40K

A growing technology services business is looking to appoint an experienced 1st/2nd Line Endpoint Support Engineer to join its Endpoint & Modern Workplace team, supporting a range of customers across London and the South East.

This is a great opportunity for a hands-on IT professional with experience across 1st and 2nd line support, Microsoft 365, Azure, endpoint, networking and infrastructure who enjoys troubleshooting technical issues, working directly with customers and developing their technical skills.

You'll provide day-to-day technical support across a varied customer base, resolving desktop and endpoint issues while also getting exposure to Microsoft 365, Azure, networks, servers and wider infrastructure. There will also be opportunities to get involved in minor implementation projects and more technical escalations, making this a strong role for someone looking to progress beyond traditional 1st Line support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1st and 2nd Line technical support to contracted and non-contracted customers
  • Troubleshoot and resolve desktop, laptop, endpoint and user-related issues
  • Support and troubleshoot Microsoft 365 environments, including user administration and common service issues
  • Assist with Azure administration and troubleshooting
  • Diagnose and resolve basic server, network and infrastructure issues
  • Escalate more complex technical issues to senior engineers where required
  • Assist with minor installations, upgrades and implementation projects
  • Provide support across networking, connectivity, virtualisation, security and on-premise infrastructure

Skills & Experience

  • Commercial experience in 1st and/or 2nd Line IT Support
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across Windows, desktop and endpoint environments
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration and support
  • Exposure to Azure administration
  • Understanding of networking, servers, infrastructure and connectivity
  • Experience supporting users directly and resolving technical issues efficiently
  • Good understanding of endpoint technologies and modern workplace environments
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
