Information Technology Analyst

IT Analyst

London | Hybrid (3 days onsite)

Nigel Frank is partnering with a London-based financial services organisation to appoint an experienced IT Analyst. This role sits within a lean, specialist technology function supporting a geographically distributed user base and a modern, security-conscious IT estate.

The successful candidate will play a hands-on role across user support, cloud platforms, infrastructure operations, and security, while working closely with senior stakeholders in a professional services environment.

Overview of the Position

This is a broad technical role suited to someone who enjoys ownership and responsibility. You will act as a key point of contact for day-to-day technology support while also contributing to platform stability, operational improvements, and technical initiatives.

The role requires regular presence in the London office and involves interaction with users at all levels of the business.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Acting as a primary escalation point for end-user technology issues, both onsite and remotely
  • Supporting colleagues across multiple regions, ensuring consistent service delivery
  • Preparing and deploying workstations, mobile devices, and user applications
  • Managing incidents through to resolution and coordinating with third-party providers when necessary
  • Maintaining and administering cloud-based and on-prem systems
  • Participating in out-of-hours support coverage on a rotational basis
  • Contributing ideas and delivery to initiatives focused on service reliability, security, and efficiency
  • Producing and maintaining operational documentation aligned with internal standards

What We're Looking For

Technical Background:

  • Several years' experience in a generalist or support-focused IT role
  • Strong hands-on knowledge of Windows 11 desktop environments and core networking concepts
  • Practical experience administering Microsoft 365 environments, including identity, device management, and collaboration tools
  • Experience working with cloud platforms and virtualised infrastructure
  • Good understanding of security controls, firewalls, and data protection principles
  • Exposure to backup, recovery, and high-availability systems

Nice to Haves

  • Familiarity with vendor risk or third-party assurance processes
  • Scripting or automation experience (PowerShell, Power Automate, or similar)
  • Academic background in a technical or scientific discipline
  • Industry certifications across Microsoft, security, or networking technologies
  • Experience with Microsoft Copilot, Purview, DLP, or information protection tooling

Professional Attributes

  • Clear, confident communicator comfortable working with senior professionals
  • Strong service orientation with a pragmatic, solution-led mindset
  • Able to work independently while contributing effectively within a small team
  • Well organised, detail-focused, and able to manage competing priorities
  • Naturally inquisitive with a willingness to adopt new technologies

Why This Role?

  • Opportunity to work in a trusted, regulated financial environment
  • Broad technical scope rather than siloed responsibilities
  • Hybrid working with a Central London base
  • A role where initiative and ownership are genuinely valued
