Senior Data Engineer - Snowflake

A well-known insurance company are looking for a Data Engineer with skills in Snowflake to join their team in London - this is a permanent role with hybrid working arrangements, requiring 2 days per week in the office on average.

In this role you will be working within a new, greenfield division of the business, using a brand-new technology stack including Snowflake, dbt, Airflow and AWS. This function provide data for Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence capabilities, helping them to provide the best possible service offering to their customers.

As a Data Engineer, you will work as part of a high-performing team with day-to-day work including managing data migrations and various data governance activities, and delivering various change programmes to support data transformation, data structures and metadata for both structured and unstructured data. You will also provide training to more junior members of the team to build capability.

We're looking for the following experience:

  • Experience liaising with data consumers to understand their requirements
  • Extensive experience with Snowflake
  • Experience or working knowledge of dbt, Airflow and AWS is highly desirable
  • Experience developing, testing and maintaining practical data architectures
  • Experience resolving complex issues and identifying improvements in the testing and validation of data accuracy
  • Experience recommending changes to enhance database maintenance, monitoring and performance tuning
  • Very strong stakeholder management experience, ideally including external suppliers

You will be rewarded with:

  • Salary up to £85,000 depending on experience
  • Bonus up to 10%
  • Pension with employer contribution of up to 14% depending on your own contribution
