Role

We are seeking a Front End Software Engineer to join a dynamic and growing team based in Newcastle upon Tyne. This position involves working closely with designers and business stakeholders to build high-quality, user-friendly interfaces. Key responsibilities include:

  • Ownership of technical products and projects, engaging with a wide range of business functions.
  • Translating UI/UX designs into functional, performant applications.
  • Challenging current systems and processes to achieve technical excellence and innovation.
  • Keeping abreast of industry and technology trends to remain at the forefront of what is possible.
  • Working in a highly collaborative environment alongside clients, data and AI analysts, and developers.

Technical Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in front-end development.
  • Strong skills in JavaScript and TypeScript.
  • Experience with modern frameworks such as Vue.js or React (other similar frameworks acceptable).
  • Familiarity with automated testing frameworks (e.g., Jest, Cypress).
  • Experience setting up and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions).
  • Experience deploying and configuring cloud environments (Azure or AWS preferred).
  • Exposure to back-end development and SQL databases (PostgreSQL desirable).
  • Consultancy or project-based experience with client-facing exposure is preferred.
  • Financial services experience is advantageous.

Important Note: This role requires five days per week in the office. Remote or hybrid working is not possible.

Academic Criteria:

  • ABB or better at A-level.
  • A 2:1 degree or higher, preferably in Computer Science or a related discipline.
  • Ideally from a Russell Group University (or global equivalent).
