Head of Technology

The Opportunity

Our client is an ambitious, fast-growing, private equity-backed group operating across multiple locations throughout the UK and Ireland.

Following a period of significant acquisition-led growth, the business is investing heavily in its technology capabilities and is looking to appoint a Head of IT & Cyber Security to help build the foundations for the next phase of scale.

This is not a traditional "keep the lights on" IT leadership role.

You'll be responsible for helping standardise technology across an expanding group of businesses, improving cyber maturity, driving cloud-first ways of working, supporting future acquisitions and acting as the key technology partner to senior leadership.

The successful candidate will join at a pivotal stage in the organisation's evolution, with the opportunity to shape strategy, influence investment decisions and build a scalable technology environment capable of supporting continued growth.

The role is remote first with travel when required to London and other sites across the UK.

The Role

You will lead the group's technology, infrastructure and cyber security agenda, working closely with business leaders and external technology partners.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Leading the integration of newly acquired businesses into a common technology environment.
• Driving Microsoft 365 adoption and standardisation across the group.
• Developing and delivering the organisation's cyber security roadmap.
• Improving governance, compliance and security controls.
• Supporting Cyber Essentials, Cyber Essentials Plus and ISO27001 readiness initiatives.
• Selecting, managing and developing relationships with strategic MSP partners.
• Leading infrastructure modernisation and cloud migration projects
• Providing technology leadership and strategic advice to senior stakeholders

Key Experience Required

We are interested in speaking with technology leaders who combine strong infrastructure knowledge with excellent stakeholder management skills and a pragmatic, delivery-focused approach.

You are likely to bring experience in several of the following areas:

• IT Infrastructure leadership.
• Microsoft 365 and cloud transformation programmes.
• Cyber security, governance and risk management.
• MSP selection, supplier management and service governance.
• Multi-site or multi-entity environments.
• Business integration, transformation or M&A activity.
• Leading large-scale technology projects and change programmes.
• Cyber Essentials and/or ISO27001 implementation.
• Technology leadership within growing, fast-paced organisations
