The Opportunity Nigel Wright are delighted to be working with a financial services organisation in their search for an IT Business Partner, who will operate as a strategic bridge between the Business and Technology teams, ensuring that every tech investment delivers clear, measurable value.This is a high-impact role where you’ll influence senior leaders, steer technology direction and help shape how the business evolves in a regulated and rapidly changing environment.As our client is determined to appoint the right candidate, you may work either on a hybrid or even remote basis so long as can travel to their offices on occasion.Our client is unable to sponsor visas, so candidates must have an ongoing right to work in the UK.The Role As a IT Business Partner, you will:Be the Strategic Interface
- Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders.
- Develop a deep understanding of business strategy, risks, and priorities.
- Spot opportunities where technology can drive productivity, innovation and change.
- Challenge and refine business requests to ensure they’re outcome-focused and aligned to strategic goals.
- Lead the demand intake process via our Technology Access Point (TAP) framework.
- Create and maintain transparent, prioritised, business-aligned technology roadmaps.
- Balance business ambition with technology capability, dependencies and constraints.
- Represent business interests in technology governance forums.
- Identify and escalate technology risks impacting operational or strategic objectives.
- Ensure initiatives are clearly tied to measurable business value.
- Challenge anything misaligned, low-value, or lacking clear strategic fit.
- Support business-led transformation and help teams adopt new technology.
- Drive collaboration across Technology, Change & Transformation, and the wider organisation.
- Strong senior-level stakeholder engagement and influencing capability.
- Experience shaping and prioritising tech demand in a complex environment.
- An understanding of governance, risk, and regulatory considerations.
- The ability to simplify complex technology concepts for non-technical audiences.
- A value-driven mindset with commercial awareness.
