IT Technician

I am supporting a highly successful, technology-led organisation in Newcastle in the search for a 1st Line IT Support Analyst.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing in-house IT team supporting a large user base across a modern Microsoft environment. The role offers genuine long-term career progression into areas such as Infrastructure, Security, DevOps and 2nd Line Support.

Working as part of a close-knit Service Desk team, you will provide first-line technical support to colleagues across the business, resolving a variety of hardware, software and Microsoft cloud-related issues. The role is more involved than a traditional service desk position and offers exposure to a broad range of technologies. 

Key responsibilities include:

• Supporting users across Windows, Microsoft 365 and cloud technologies
• Managing accounts and devices using Active Directory, Entra ID and Intune
• Troubleshooting hardware, software and connectivity issues
• Laptop builds, deployments and device management
• Supporting meeting room and AV equipment
• Managing and prioritising service desk tickets
• Escalating issues where appropriate
• Contributing to documentation and process improvements

We're keen to speak with candidates who have:

• 2-5 years' experience within an IT Support role
• Strong experience with Active Directory
• Exposure to Microsoft Intune
• Microsoft 365 administration experience
• Knowledge of Entra ID / Azure environments
• Excellent troubleshooting and customer service skills
• Experience supporting hardware and end-user devices

Desirable skills include:

• MS-102 or MD-102 certifications
• Exposure to Security, Infrastructure or DevOps technologies
• Experience working within a multi-site environment
