Information Manager

The Company Nigel Wright Tech are delighted to be working with a Newcastle based not for profit organisation in their search for an Information Manager. The organisation operates within the global health and research ecosystem.The Role The role is central to ensuring that information and data that support their global initiatives are accurate, secure and effectively managed. You will oversee key information management processes, develop and maintain data systems and support decision making across the network, helping to ensure the organisation meets its compliance and governance obligations. The role will be hybrid with 3 days per week required in their Newcastle Upon Tyne office. Key responsibilities include: 
  • Lead governance for all data and registry related activity 
  • Ensure GDPR compliance and manage DPIAs for new tools, new contracts and new registry data uses 
  • Conduct internal audits and maintain all required documentation 
  • Ensure information security processes remain compliant and up to date 
  • Oversee the transition from the current Data Warehouse to a new platform 
  • Promote data quality, documentation standards and robust processes across teams 
The Requirements This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys solving complex data governance challenges, collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders and making a meaningful contribution to impactful international projects. Key requirements include: 
  • Proficiency in managing and maintaining databases and ensuring data accuracy
  • Experience with documentation, auditing and best practise governance processes 
  • Understanding of GDPR, DPIAs and handling of sensitive data 
  • Previous experience of working with a highly regulated environment 
  • Some knowledge of ISO 27001 is desirable 
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to design efficient information management systems
