Infrastructure Engineer
Infrastructure Deployment

Configure, install, and maintain IT infrastructure including servers, networking equipment, storage systems, and other hardware across multiple locations.

Support the setup and integration of new sites or environments into the wider corporate infrastructure.

Ensure all infrastructure is deployed in line with current industry best practices and aligned with organisational security standards.
Maintenance and Troubleshooting

Provide both on-site and remote support for hardware and network-related issues, ensuring rapid identification and resolution to minimise downtime.

Conduct regular system audits, perform software updates and patches, and ensure effective system backups and performance monitoring.

Collaborate with internal stakeholders and, when required, third-party vendors to maintain seamless system operations.
Network and Systems Administration

Configure and manage local and wide area networks (LAN/WAN), VPNs, firewalls, routers, switches, and wireless systems across distributed locations.

Monitor and maintain infrastructure performance, identify and resolve security vulnerabilities and bottlenecks.

Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) following incidents and implement preventive measures.
Documentation and Reporting

Maintain accurate documentation for system configurations, network topologies, and procedures.

Produce regular reports for senior stakeholders on infrastructure status, incident trends, and ongoing project developments.
Collaboration and Communication

Work closely with members of the infrastructure, support, and wider IT teams to ensure cohesive service delivery and continuous improvement.
Education & Experience
-
Minimum of 3 years' experience in a relevant IT infrastructure or networking role (e.g., Infrastructure Engineer, Network Engineer).

Demonstrated success in deploying and maintaining IT infrastructure across a variety of environments and locations.
Technical Skills

Strong understanding of networking protocols, firewall configuration, and diagnostic tools; experience with Cisco Meraki is a plus.

Solid experience in Microsoft 365 administration.

Familiarity with server virtualisation technologies (e.g., VMware) and cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.

Knowledge of backup and disaster recovery systems; experience with solutions like Druva or Barracuda is desirable but not required.

Awareness of IT security standards and frameworks such as ISO 27001, GDPR, and best practices in disaster recovery planning.

Practical experience with enterprise-grade hardware and software from vendors such as Cisco, Dell, and Microsoft.
Certifications

Industry-recognised certifications (e.g., Cisco, Microsoft, AWS, Azure) are highly preferred.
