Network Architect

About the Role:

A leading healthcare organisation is seeking a Network Architect to join its Network and Telecoms Team. This is a strategic and hands-on role, ideal for someone with deep expertise in enterprise network design and infrastructure architecture.

You’ll play a key role in shaping the organisation’s network infrastructure strategy, ensuring resilience, scalability, and alignment with operational and clinical needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with senior IT leaders to deliver a robust and future-ready network platform.
  • Define and document infrastructure strategies and service relationships.
  • Lead infrastructure projects and vendor engagements.
  • Ensure network availability, security, and performance across multiple sites.
  • Provide 24/7 support coverage and troubleshoot production systems.
  • Contribute to service design, hardware solutions, and interface requirements.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
  • Higher degree in IT or equivalent experience.
  • Expertise in:
    • Enterprise network design
    • Network security and threat hardening
    • SD-WAN, SDA, DNS/DHCP
    • Centrally managed services (e.g. Cisco DNA, ISE, Prime)
    • Next-gen firewalls and remote access technologies
  • Strong analytical, project management, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Desirable Skills & Experience Desirable
  • Cisco certifications
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure and cloud technologies
  • NHS or healthcare sector experience
  • Project management qualifications
