The Opportunity North East (Newcastle) – Hybrid (2–3 days onsite)Up to c.£75–85k (depending on experience)12-month FTC (strong likelihood of extension)

We’re supporting a growing organisation embarking on a major AI-led transformation programme aimed at reshaping how the business operates.

This is not about isolated initiatives — the focus is on end-to-end process redesign, embedding AI at the core of operations, and delivering measurable business outcomes at scale.

As part of this, they are looking to hire a Senior Programme PMO to bring structure, pace and control to a fast-moving and high-profile programme.

What you'll be doing?

This is a hands-on, delivery-focused PMO position sitting at the heart of a high-profile transformation programme. You’ll play a key role in bringing structure, pace and transparency across multiple delivery streams, working closely with the Programme Manager to ensure the programme operates with clarity and discipline.

You will take ownership of core PMO activity, establishing and maintaining integrated plans, managing governance, reporting and RAID processes, and ensuring alignment across workstreams, dependencies and resources. A key part of the role will involve producing concise, executive-level updates that surface risks, progress and key decisions, enabling senior stakeholders to make informed calls quickly.

This is not a passive reporting role — you will be expected to actively drive momentum, identify issues early, connect the dots across the programme, and ensure delivery remains on track. It will suit someone who combines strong attention to detail with a pragmatic, pace-driven approach, and who is comfortable operating in a fast-moving, evolving environment.

  • High visibility across the organisation and senior leadership
  • Opportunity to play a key role in shaping a future operating model
