Software Development Manager

The Company Nigel Wright Tech are delighted to be working with a service business in their search for a Software Development Manager. The Role Leading a cross-functional team you will be expected to deliver high quality solutions across salesforce, web platforms, mobile applications and data services. Key responsibilities include: 
  • Team Leadership & Development: Lead and mentor a development team, conduct performance evaluations, support career growth, and foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

  • Project & Resource Management: Oversee timelines, deliverables, and resource allocation in coordination with project management to ensure on-time delivery and transparency.

  • Software Development Oversight: Manage the full software development lifecycle, ensuring adherence to best practices like Agile, DevOps, and CI/CD, while providing technical guidance and architectural oversight.

  • System Integration & Technical Strategy: Guide API and middleware design, ensuring smooth integration between Salesforce, apps, websites, and back-end systems; support senior leadership with technology roadmaps.

  • Stakeholder Collaboration & Operational Support: Work closely with stakeholders to define product roadmaps, prioritize internal support queries, and undertake additional tasks as required by leadership.

The Requirements This is a fantastic opportunity to work for a company going through an exciting growth phase. Key requirements: 
  • Technical Expertise: Strong background in software development with experience in web/mobile technologies (e.g. React, Laravel) or Salesforce platform (e.g. Apex, LWC), plus familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), APIs, and modern architecture patterns.

  • Development Practices: Solid experience with Agile methodologies, DevOps, Git, CI/CD pipelines, unit testing, and system integration using SOAP/REST APIs and authentication protocols.

  • Leadership & Communication: Proven ability to lead and motivate development teams, manage multiple projects, and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Problem Solving & Business Insight: Strong critical thinking and a proactive approach to solving complex technical and business challenges.

  • Preferred Qualifications: Salesforce certifications are a plus, along with experience in data platforms, ETL pipelines, SQL, and BI tools.
