Company An established and growing company in Sunderland is seeking a skilled Web Developer to join its internal marketing team. This role offers the opportunity to lead the development and optimisation of two public-facing websites, contributing directly to strategic marketing and digital engagement objectives.Role

Reporting to the Digital Marketing Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality web solutions that enhance user experience, improve search engine visibility, and support lead generation. The position requires a hands-on developer with a strong understanding of both technical and marketing principles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain responsive, mobile-optimised web pages using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Implement SEO strategies to increase traffic and conversion rates.
  • Collaborate with marketing stakeholders to deliver visually engaging and high-performing websites.
  • Engage with cloud infrastructure and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure adherence to best practices in software engineering and web development.
The company are office based although can offer some flexibility, 1 day per week. The role presents an excellent opportunity for someone to make a real difference, adding new features and services to the website as well as optimising performance, with a high level of autonomy.The salary on offer would be up to £35,000.Person

The ideal candidate will be proactive, collaborative, and passionate about web development. They will demonstrate strong technical capabilities alongside an appreciation for marketing, branding, and user experience.

Essential Skills:

  • Proven experience with WordPress, PHP, and SEO implementation.
  • Proficiency in front-end development technologies.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, Git).
  • Understanding of web architecture, testing frameworks, and database management (SQL/MySQL).

Desirable Attributes:

  • Knowledge of digital marketing and analytics platforms.
  • Awareness of UX/UI design principles and branding.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure services and security tools.
