Head of Project Management | Glasgow | Senior LeadershipAbout the RoleWe're partnering with a fast-growing creative and digital studio to find a Head of Project Management to lead and shape their PM discipline. This is a senior leadership position, acting as the subject matter expert for project management and partnering closely with other Heads of Department and senior client success leadership to drive strategic change and outstanding client outcomes.

Beyond team leadership, you'll own the department's commercial performance — ensuring project management is not just robust, but a genuine driver of profitability and growth.

Key ResponsibilitiesDefine, own and continuously improve project management standards, methodologies and best practice across the studioAct as senior authority on delivery methods (agile, waterfall, wagile), applying the right approach per projectUphold project gateway processes, ensuring rigour in planning, reporting and escalation managementBuild, lead and inspire a high-performing team of project managers, owning recruitment, onboarding, retention and succession planningSet clear objectives, conduct appraisals and create development plans linking performance to quality and client outcomesDesign flexible resourcing strategies across permanent staff, contractors and delivery partners (on-shore, near-shore, off-shore)Own vetting and management of delivery partners, ensuring they meet studio standardsProvide expert input into pre-sales and pitching, supporting accurate scoping and delivery credentialsTake responsibility for departmental utilisation, productivity and commercial performanceManage departmental budgets for tools, training and licences with measurable ROILead client communication standards, acting as senior escalation point on project health, progress, risks and budgetsSkills & ExperienceProven track record as a recognised leader in project management, with credibility across clients and colleaguesStrong commercial acumen — able to balance delivery quality with financial performanceConfident communicator who engages credibly at every level of an organisationCalm under pressure, with a track record of handling complexity and escalation with composureDemonstrable experience building and developing high-performing PM teamsComfortable working across agile, waterfall and hybrid delivery methodologiesWhat We're Looking ForAn inspirational people leader who sets high standards, motivates teams, and is genuinely passionate about developing talent — while bringing structure, consistency and clarity to complex projects.
