We are looking for an experienced Data Centre Engineer to support the testing and validation of infrastructure solutions within a controlled pre-production environment for a leading banking client.

🔧 Key Responsibilities

✅ Testing and validating infrastructure solutions in a controlled lab/pre-production environment prior to live deployment

✅ Deep VMware engineering including:

☁️ VM builds

☁️ ESXi & vCenter administration

☁️ vMotion

☁️ DRS

☁️ HA

☁️ Performance & resource management

✅ Managing and troubleshooting Storage & SAN environments including:

💾 Access control

💾 Multipathing

💾 Performance tuning

💾 Storage connectivity validation

✅ Supporting pre-production testing of server and infrastructure changes

✅ Documenting test outcomes, identifying issues, and recommending practical solutions

✅ Working closely with internal Data Centre Engineering teams to support successful delivery

🛠️ Skills & Experience Required

✔️ Strong background in Infrastructure or Data Centre Engineering

✔️ Deep hands-on VMware experience within enterprise environments including:

🔹 vSphere

🔹 ESXi

🔹 vCenter

🔹 vMotion

🔹 DRS

🔹 HA

🔹 Resource Management

✔️ Strong Storage & SAN experience including:

💾 SMB / NFS

💾 Multipathing

💾 Performance troubleshooting

💾 Storage connectivity validation

✔️ Experience with hardware management consoles such as:

🖥️ Dell iDRAC

🖥️ HP iLO

🖥️ Lenovo XClarity

✔️ Good networking fundamentals with the ability to troubleshoot infrastructure connectivity issues

✔️ Strong experience with:

🪟 Windows Server 2016 / 2019 / 2022

✔️ Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently

✔️ Experience working within lab, test, or pre-production environments is highly desirable

✔️ Comfortable working within Data Centre environments (non-physical build focus)
