My client, within Financial Services, are seeking highly skilled M365 Consultant to lead and support a large-scale Microsoft 365 migration programme. This role requires strong hands-on migration expertise, with Quest migration tools being an essential requirement.

Role Overview

The consultant will play a key role in planning, executing, and optimising the migration of all major components within the Microsoft 365 ecosystem. You will work closely with Infrastructure, Cloud, Security, and Architecture teams to ensure a smooth transition with minimal disruption to users.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and support end-to-end M365 migration efforts , using Quest (including Quest On Demand Migration or Migration Manager) as a core toolset for tenant-to-tenant or on-prem to cloud migrations.
• Migrate all components of Microsoft 365 , including:
• Exchange Online (mailboxes, distribution lists, shared mailboxes, public folders)
• SharePoint Online (sites, libraries, permissions, metadata)
• OneDrive for Business (user data, sharing links, permissions mapping)
• Teams (channels, chat history, teams structure, apps, policies)
• Security & Compliance configurations (DLP, retention, governance policies)
• Entra ID (Azure AD) directory synchronisation, identity mapping, and security groups
• Conduct pre-migration assessments , identifying dependencies, potential risks, licensing considerations, and security impacts.
• Develop migration plans, runbooks, and cutover strategies , ensuring efficient and secure data transfer.
• Perform tenant remediation and optimisation pre- and post-migration to ensure environments meet Microsoft best practices.
• Troubleshoot migration issues, including throttling, sync conflicts, permission mismatches, and data integrity challenges.
• Support change management and user readiness activities, working with comms, training, and support teams.
• Provide SME input on governance, compliance, identity, and M365 best practices to ensure a stable target state.
• Deliver clear documentation (HLD/LLD, migration logs, UAT plans, operational guidelines) for technical and non-technical teams.

Ideal Candidate

• Proven experience delivering large-scale, enterprise-level M365 migrations .
• Mandatory experience with Quest migration tools (tenant-to-tenant, AD, or hybrid migrations).
• Strong working knowledge of Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, Entra ID/Azure AD, and security/governance configurations.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to resolve complex migration or identity issues.
• Strong communication abilities, able to work with technical teams, stakeholders, and end users.
