Network Security Engineer (Zscaler SME – Cross Platform Expertise)

Contract Type: 6 Month Contract

Day Rate: £550 per day

IR35 Status: Inside IR35

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Network Security Engineer with strong Zscaler SME expertise and broad cross-platform security knowledge to join on an initial 6-month contract. The role will focus on supporting, optimising, and governing enterprise security architecture across a complex, multi-vendor environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Support and maintain Zscaler architecture standards, including High-Level Design (HLD) and Low-Level Design (LLD) documentation.
• Develop and maintain reusable design patterns and architectural best practices.
• Provide technical expertise across security and network integrations, including:
• Zscaler
• Elisity
• Cisco SD-WAN
• Palo Alto
• CrowdStrike / SIEM platforms
• Contribute to strategic security initiatives such as:
• Zero Trust transformation (ZTB)
• DLP / CASB enhancement
• Adoption of new platform features and capabilities
• Support project delivery, conduct architecture reviews, and optimise existing deployments.
• Act as an escalation point for major incidents within the network security domain.
• Drive engineering governance, standards alignment, and continuous improvement best practices.

Required Experience

• Proven experience as a Zscaler SME in enterprise environments.
• Strong cross-platform network and security engineering capability.
• Experience working within regulated environments and structured governance frameworks.
• Ability to support both BAU and project-driven initiatives.
• Strong documentation, stakeholder communication, and problem-solving skills.
