Overview
My client, a Tech business, are looking for an experienced Lead Windows Server Administrator to take ownership of our Windows server estate. This role combines hands-on technical expertise with strategic input, helping to shape infrastructure services, introduce new technologies, and drive continuous improvement across the environment.
Key Responsibilities
Infrastructure & Systems Management
- Design and deliver complex, integrated infrastructure solutions aligned to business needs
- Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot Windows-based virtualisation platforms (e.g. Azure Local / Hypervisor environments)
- Maintain and optimise core services including servers, storage, email, file, and collaboration platforms
- Proactively monitor system performance, capacity, and resilience to minimise risk
Skills & Experience Required
- Degree in Computer Science, IT, MIS, Business, or equivalent practical experience
- 7+ years’ experience in IT infrastructure / systems administration
- Experience with scripting and automation (e.g. backups, file transfers, configuration)
- Demonstrated success implementing new technologies
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
