Business Process Design Lead

Lead Business Process Consultant / Process Design Lead

London (Nr Fenchurch Station) | £75,000–£82,000 + 12.5% Bonus + Outstanding Pension

The Opportunity

Nixor are supporting a well-known Financial Services organisation as they continue to invest heavily in Data, AI and Business Transformation. This is a rare opportunity to join at the beginning of what is one of the organisation's most important strategic initiatives.

AI and Process Transformation sit firmly at the centre of the company's future strategy and are now a key priority for the COO and Executive Leadership Team. Significant investment is being made across Data, AI and Technology, and this newly created role will play a central part in helping shape how the organisation operates over the coming years.

Rather than joining an established function with mature processes already in place, you'll have the opportunity to build something from the ground up. You'll lead a brand-new Process Design capability, initially managing one Process Analyst, with the expectation that the team will continue to grow as demand increases.

This is a highly visible position where your work will directly influence how AI is adopted across the business and how future operating processes are designed.

What is the business trying to achieve?

Our client is investing heavily in AI, automation and digital transformation. However, before AI can genuinely transform the business, they first need to understand exactly how work is carried out today.

Many business processes have evolved over time and have never been formally documented. This role will establish that foundation by working with stakeholders across the organisation to understand the current ("As-Is") processes before helping design future ("To-Be") ways of working that make the best use of AI and automation.

You'll spend time working directly with the business, running workshops, facilitating discussions, challenging existing ways of working and mapping complex processes. Working closely alongside the wider Data & AI function, you'll identify opportunities where AI can remove manual effort, simplify operations and improve customer and colleague experiences.

This isn't about implementing AI yourself—it's about creating the process foundations that allow AI to be successfully introduced across the organisation.

Typical responsibilities will include:

  • Running discovery workshops with business stakeholders
  • Mapping As-Is business processes
  • Challenging and improving existing ways of working
  • Designing future-state (To-Be) processes
  • Working alongside AI Strategy, Prototyping and Delivery teams
  • Translating business requirements into delivery-ready process journeys
  • Supporting the adoption of new ways of working across the business

What's in it for you?

Opportunities like this don't come around very often.

Because this is a brand-new capability, you'll have genuine ownership from day one. Rather than inheriting someone else's framework, you'll help define how Process Design, Process Re-engineering and Business Transformation operate within the organisation and play a major role in shaping its future.

You'll join a highly regarded Data & AI function of around 20 specialists, working alongside Strategy, AI Engineering, Governance, Visualisation and Prototyping teams who are all focused on delivering meaningful business change.

As a business of around 650 people (but part of a much larger group), the organisation is large enough to invest significantly in AI, yet small enough that individuals can make a visible impact. Decisions happen quickly, ideas are listened to and you'll have direct exposure to senior leadership.

The business has an excellent track record of developing people, with several members of the wider Data & AI team progressing multiple grades in a relatively short period as the function has grown.

Alongside the opportunity itself, you'll also benefit from:

  • £80,000–£85,000 basic salary
  • 12.5% annual bonus
  • Outstanding pension with up to 21% employer contribution
  • High visibility across the organisation
  • Genuine ownership of a growing capability
  • Clear progression into Business Architecture, Operating Model Design or Enterprise Transformation leadership roles

We're deliberately open-minded about background because this role is about capability rather than job title.

You'll have experience of:

  • Running workshops with business stakeholders
  • Process Discovery and Process Mapping
  • Designing As-Is and To-Be processes
  • Business Process Re-engineering
  • Gathering and documenting business requirements
  • Managing and influencing senior stakeholders
  • Challenging existing ways of working
  • Translating business problems into practical solutions

Experience working with AI, automation or digital transformation programmes would be advantageous but is not essential. Strong process design and stakeholder engagement skills are considered far more important than deep technical AI knowledge.
