Payroll Implementation Consultant - Netherlands (Remote)

We are partnering with an innovative global payroll technology organisation that is transforming the way payroll is delivered. Their cloud-based payroll platform provides continuous payroll calculations, real-time updates and intelligent validation tools, helping organisations improve accuracy, reduce processing pressures and modernise payroll operations.

As part of continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Payroll Implementation Consultant with strong knowledge of Dutch payroll legislation and payroll project delivery. This is a client-facing role where you will play a key part in implementing payroll solutions for customers across the Netherlands, guiding projects from initial requirements through to go-live and handover.

The Role

Working closely with clients, product teams and internal stakeholders, you will manage and support the end-to-end implementation lifecycle, ensuring successful delivery and adherence to payroll best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the functional lead during project kick-offs and requirements workshops.
• Gather and document payroll configuration requirements.
• Advise clients on best practices and identify any deviations from standard processes.
• Work alongside product teams to configure payroll solutions.
• Support testing activities, including UAT, parallel runs and system validations.
• Validate payroll data and coordinate issue resolution with relevant teams.
• Assist with data mapping and integration activities.
• Define workarounds and support problem resolution throughout the project lifecycle.
• Maintain project documentation and contribute to project planning activities.
• Ensure effective knowledge transfer to delivery and operational payroll teams following implementation.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a functional consulting, implementation or analytical role within payroll software or payroll outsourcing environments.
• Strong understanding of Dutch payroll legislation, tax and compliance requirements.
• Proven experience delivering payroll implementation projects in the Netherlands.
• Excellent client-facing and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to gather, analyse and document business requirements.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to propose practical solutions.
• High attention to detail and a proactive approach.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
