An opportunity has arisen within Digital Healthcare for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join the IT Support section as an IT Delivery Manager. As well as having managerial and technical operational responsibilities, the post holder will contribute towards the delivery of the digital strategy and improving the Trusts digital maturity.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will primarily be responsible for managing the IT Support team based at the West Cumberland Hospital in Whitehaven who are responsible for supporting and deploying end user devices, associated applications and software to staff both within the Trust and supported organisations. They are also responsible for ensuring the delivery of high quality IT support services by the team, ensuring efficient and effective working and promoting collaboration with the wider service. They will also be part of project teams ensuring projects are delivered on time with work packages relating to their areas of responsibility being delivered on time and meeting quality criteria.

They will also be responsible for the delivery of small/medium scale projects and initiatives themselves directly and by supporting team members in the delivery of projects or initiatives which they are responsible for.

The post holder will also have managerial responsibilities such as appraisals, performance reviews, supervisions and undertaking attendance management and will ensure that staff adhere to policies and procedures.

The post holder will also participate in service review meetings either with customers or suppliers to ensure service level agreements are being adhered to, with actions being taken as necessary.

Experience in the effective management of staff, providing IT support in a corporate environment and involvement in projects relating to IT system implementations would be advantageous.

Qualifications

Essential
  • Degree in an IT related subject or in-depth knowledge gained through working in a corporate IT environment
  • ITIL Service Management qualification at intermediate level
  • Hold or willing to work towards leadership qualification at level 5 or above
Desirable
  • Membership of professional body
  • ITIL Expert Qualification
  • PRINCE 2 Practitioner
  • Post graduate qualification

Experience

Essential
  • Significant experience in an IT Service Management role
  • Experience of working in an IT organisation working to ITIL framework standards
  • Confidence and capability to deal and negotiate at all levels of an organisation
  • Working and negotiating with system suppliers to agree and ensure the proper operation of SLA's
  • Negotiating the procurement of IT goods and services
  • Developing and delivering continuous improvement in service delivery, bettering outcomes for customers/users
  • Customer focused and well organised
  • Ability to articulate the benefits of IT in business terms
  • A proven track record of working with internal and external service providers to deliver high quality services
