Job summary

The Learning Systems Lead will lead on the use and development of learning management systems to ensure robust processes are developed, implemented and maintained in order to provide an efficient and effective service. This will include the provision of standard and complex learning information to both internal and external stakeholders.

The post holder will also lead on the implementation within OLM of new and adjustment of requirements in conjunction with the national review of statutory and mandatory learning.

Main duties of the job

Lead on making full and effective use of Oracle Learning Management System (OLM) to maintain up to date and accurate records of training activity and identifyareas where OLM can be utilised to improve efficiency and maximise the benefit to the organisation

Project manage and lead the Administrative team in the implementation of changes and new initiatives in line with the national review of statutory and mandatory learning

Manage the process for accepting/transferring IATs relating to learning within ESR

Liaise with relevant teams to ensure efficient and effective service provision, eg ESR/IT/People Services teams

Lead on the design, implementation and review of Standard Operating Procedures in order to maximise productivity and ensure consistency of practice

Produce standard and complex reports from OLM on both a regular basis and on request both internally and for external

Provide and explain complex information in a variety of formats to staff at all levels

Manage the support provided to users in the use of the eLearning platform/ESR functionality

Provide advice, guidance and support to managers and staff with activities relating to the OLM system

Lead on project work to support the ongoing development and design of OLM to support learning across all staff groups

Lead processes associated with learning areas such as Study Support, development programmes etc.

Qualifications

Essential
  • Degree Level Qualification in a relevant subject or equivalent experience
  • Evidence of CPD and a commitment to life long learning
  • Qualification in IT - Advanced ECDL, CLAIT or an equivalent qualification or experience
  • Evidence of management/supervision of staff
Desirable
  • Leadership/Management qualification
  • Teaching/facilitation qualification
