Specialist Clinician (Child & Adolescent Psychotherapist)
Job summary
The South Camden Community Team (SCCT) supports the emotional well-being needs of young people (0-18 years) with assessment and evidence-based therapeutic clinical work. It is a rich multi-disciplinary team made up of a range of clinical disciplines to include: Child Psychotherapy, Clinical/Counselling Psychology, CBT Therapy, Family Therapy and Psychiatry. The team works closely with partners in the borough to include: schools, local authority and the voluntary sector with a view to meeting the diverse needs of the young people and families.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will assess, plan, implement and evaluate of programs of evidenced based care to service users, whilst being conscious of their changing healthcare needs and varying levels of complexity, working collaboratively, with other clinicians and stakeholders. They will offer short, medium and longer-term interventions, including parent-work and group-work if appropriate. The post holder will hold a highly complex caseload.

In order to meet the needs of the Trust you may be required from time to time to work at different locations to your normal place of work. This may mean that you are required to work at any location that fall under Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Haringey or Islington. The Trust reserves the right to require staff to work at such other places or locations as it considers reasonable and necessary on a temporary or permanent basis.

Job responsibilities
You will be required to work within a multi-disciplinary team delivering a range of evidence based interventions and be responsible for the formulation and delivery of specialised programmes of care. The post holder will be required to work on Thursdays to attend MDT and other team meetings.
Person Specification
Qualifications/ Registrations
- Degree level as a minimum plus developed specialist and practical knowledge equating to postgraduate degree/ Masters level
- Registration with the Association of Child Psychotherapists) (ACP) as a Child and Adolescent Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist.
- Additional training in specific therapeutic modalities e.g. Parent Infant Psychotherapy
Skills/ Abilities
- High level of skill and knowledge in safeguarding and risk management
- Personal duty of care in relation to equipment or resources
- Ability to manage own clinical case load
- Ability to assess, formulate, plan and deliver evidence-based care to young people and families.
- Competent and confident in using IT systems, e.g. electronic patient record
- Experience of using Goal Based Measures and other ROMs
Experience/ Knowledge
- Evidence of clinical experience working with client population (0-18s)
- A clear track record of managing complexity and risk whilst maintaining high standards of service delivery.
- Clinical experience of assessing mental health and wellbeing needs of children and young people.
- Experience of managing clinical complexity and high levels of risk in children and young people.
- Experience of working with internal and external stakeholders
- Willingness to contribute to strategic and business planning
- Experience of school based or community outreach work
- Some experience of project work (e.g. Quality improvement)
- Some experience of supervising junior colleagues
