As the Digital Workstream Lead, you will drive digital innovation and strategic IT implementation to optimise healthcare processes and patient care. This role involves developing an innovative digital strategy, integrating digital technologies into scheme design, and establishing a reliable IT infrastructure to support the Trust's digital initiatives and future growth. Your expertise will ensure the programme meets the highest standards of governance, public accountability, and quality benchmarks, delivering substantial benefits to the community.
Main duties of the job
- Lead the planning and development of an innovative digital infrastructure plan and budget for the new Hinchingbrooke Hospital site.
- Establish a scalable IT infrastructure to support the Trust's digital initiatives and future growth.
- Define IT requirements to meet the scheme model of care for Hospital 2.0.
- Integrate digital technologies into scheme design, planning, and operations for increased efficiency and enhanced patient care.
- Work collaboratively with senior management, Trust Executives, and workstream leads to align digital needs with clinical requirements.
- Lead the procurement of large-scale digital services, managing relationships and contracts with suppliers.
- Develop an IT disaster recovery plan to minimize downtime and data loss in emergencies.

Person Specification
Qualifications
- Master's degree or equivalent experience in Digital Health, Informatics, Leadership or a related field with evidence of ongoing professional development in digital transformation and leadership
- NHS/public sector digital leadership certification or formal training in change management and organisational leadership
Experience
- Experience of leading teams in the development and realisation of digitally enabled change programmes
- Proven track record of leading large-scale NHS digital transformation programmes, ensuring strategic oversight, delivery to time and budget, and long-term impact
- Proven ability to engage, influence and negotiate at senior level, including NHSE, New Hospital Programme, ICSs and external partners, with direct involvement in NHS governance and strategic decision-making
- Extensive experience in procuring enterprise-wide digital strategies, ensuring interoperability, cybersecurity compliance, sustainability, and adoption of AI and automation technologies
- Knowledge and experience of implementing digital technologies and change across Fabric, Footprint and Flow capabilities, including smart buildings development, network infrastructure and clinical support tools
- Proven track record of delivering to challenging targets
- Experience in New Hospital Programme digital development and alignment to Hospital 2.0 standards
- Experience and knowledge of Estates building standards and digital standards relating to Smart buildings
- Significant experience in leading Digital change programmes in the NHS within major capital programmes.
- Experience of working with clinicians and service users to ensure their views are heard and translated into service improvements
- Knowledge and applied understanding of the context and challenges of leaders in health and health care settings
Key Skills
- Excellent communications skills, written and oral. Ability to present complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences, including senior members, clinicians and external partners.
- Ability to identify and manage risk, exploit opportunities, and lead organisational change, securing stakeholder buy-in while overcoming resistance.
- Ability to work under significant pressure, to short deadlines and manage conflicting priorities whilst continuing to deliver high quality work.
- Extensive experience in writing reports, business cases, including financials, cost/benefit analysis
