Main duties of the job

To support the delivery of HHRP,theSolution Architectwill work across the programme to provide Digital and Technical leadership to support the successful planning and delivery of theprogramme. The role willfocus on thedefinition, design and delivery of thesolutionsthat will form part of the 49 Intelligent Hospital Capabilities(IHCs).

Particular focuswill berequiredon ensuringintegration of technologies with the Trust's New Hospital Programme, with wider digital developments across the Truston different sites to the new hospital development at Hinchingbrooke, and integration with system-level pathways to maximise impact for patients.Bringing logic to the interoperability between ourSolution Architectureis a critical part of the role.The role will align moretightlywith the IHCs that sit within the'Footprint'and'Flow'categoriesas set out byNHPwhich areapproximately ahalf to 2/3rds of the49IHCs,butmay also support the Technical Architect within the'Fabriccategory too.

Reporting into the HHRPDigital WorkstreamLeadwho is a member of NWAFT's digital seniorleadership,butworking day-to-day with multiple technical portfolios and programmeworkstreams, the role is to analyse, plan, design and deliver the assigned strategic technology components and to provide delivery governancefor the HHRP.

This role is permanent but secondments from other NHS organisations will be considered.

The Solution Architect will be the Subject Matter Expert and will produce and present policy, designs and recommendations for the target business outcomes that capitalise on relevant business strategies and requirements. The Solution Architect will contribute to decision making in the evolution of the Future State Architectureat senior levels within the Trust, ICB and New Hospital Programme.

The Post Holder will work with all Stakeholder groups across the various IT, Businessand Clinicalunits both internally and externally to the Trust at all levels of seniority.And will have a team reporting to themto deliver the technology for the future Hinchingbrooke Hospital, which will flex and grow overdifferent stages of the new hospital development.

The postholder will also be expected tomaintainrelationships withappropriate externalsuppliers and related services, systems, and staff at all levels in other Healthcare and related organisations.As well as this,the post holder will support the Digital Workstream Lead in engaging with and building a strong technical relationship with the multiple teams that sit within the centralNHSE New Hospitals Programme.

Thepostholder willbecome a key member of the senior technical management within the Digital Workstreamandmaintainclose, day to day working relationships with theTrusts ITEnterprise Architecture team, the leads of other IT Architectural domains, Business RelationshipManagersand other core functions across IT.

Person Specification

Education/Knowledge and Qualifications

Essential
  • Certification or substantial demonstrable working knowledge of an appropriate Solution / Enterprise Architecture methodology or framework such as TOGAF, Zachman or Agile.

Experience

Essential
  • Substantial Architectural solutions design experience within an organisation (Preferably Healthcare) that uses a structured design methodology.
  • Experience working within a complex Acute and / or other Healthcare setting.

Knowledge / Skills and Abilities

Essential
  • In depth knowledge of Hospital Systems (Both Clinical and non- Clinical).
  • Knowledge and use of solution Architecture tools and models for evaluation and analysis for specification gathering
