Contract: Permanent. Contractually employed by North Yorkshire Police however will also support NYFRS

Hours: Full Time

Salary: LS1 £66,294-£73,674

Our Support Service functions work in collaboration across North Yorkshire Police and North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service, providing vital shared expertise to deliver efficient and effective service to our communities.

The Opportunity

As Head of ICT and Service Delivery, you will act as Deputy to the Director of ICT and a key member of the ICT Senior Management Team (ICTSMT). You will be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of a Service Management and Delivery strategy and roadmap, intrinsically linked to the priorities of policing and fire. You will lead a team of service management specialists to deliver secure, robust, effective, and user-friendly ICT support services that add real value to front-line police and fire operations.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead ICT service delivery, change management, and support hubs in Northallerton, York, Scarborough, and Harrogate.
  • Manage budgets, procurement, and vendor relationships for maximum value.
  • Oversee end-user device refresh, cyber security, and service improvement.
  • Chair service reviews and engage with senior stakeholders.
  • Shape and deliver the ICT service and security strategy, ensuring compliance and resilience.
  • Represent the organisations at local, regional, and national ICT forums.

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven ICT leadership in complex, multi-site environments.
  • Strong background in service delivery, cyber security, and public sector procurement.
  • ITIL qualification (above foundation) or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with IT security standards (Cyber Essentials Plus, ISO27001, NIST, etc.).
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and analytical skills.

The role is primarily based at our Headquarters in Northallerton, with an expected on site presence of two days per week - up to four days during the onboarding period. The location benefits from excellent transport connections, including mainline rail services and easy access to the A1 and A19. Northallerton is conveniently situated near Teesside, York, Harrogate and Leeds.
